Went to the biannual family reunion today. Nothing too exciting. We do what my people do best: Get together. Eat. Drink. Eat some more. Find the fudge. Eat it while we drink. Mmm. And scope out the next piece of fudge.
Yes, that is my family. Hee hee.
We did something new this year. Baskets! My father was one of ten kids, so each family had to bring atleast one basket for their family. While I was desperately wanting the Steeler basket, there was one equally fun... And a great idea too! It was the freebie patterns you find in any craft store, and the yarn required to do the projects! Cool! There was a scarf pattern, shawl pattern, and a lion. Fun fur and all!!!
We left the reunion...with my winning yarn basket in arm! and trekked home. How sweet it was to get back to our lovely little home. The brother and his wife left with us and came to hang a bit at the residence. We decided to venture down to the neighbors' yard side. I found a jack pot of books and patterns to look through. Alas, most were glued together with some unknown substance (oh, I washed my hands rather thoroughly when I entered my home again!). I ended up leaving there with a knit magazine and a book that may be circa early 70's. I will have to scope it out later on. For some reason, it was wet in one of the corners. I am letting it dry on the porch before riffling through it.
What an exciting day to score!
I have been spending the rest of it typing up old patterns I have that need to be copied to my "I save everything" cd. It's something that I do to protect my books since I am so hard on them. And it is also easier when I travel to just print out the pattern I am desiring to work on than to haul the whole book with me.
My time dwindles at home with my one little girl. She is snoozing soundly on me as I type. It's hard being a lovey furball, but someone has to do it. Mako is my Aussie Cattle Dog. She does not herd cows or cattle very well...she is more the couch herder. Them and little hoo-mans whom have food. She proves to be quite a fantastic vacuum when it comes to crumbs. I am getting as many snugs in from her that I can before leaving for a bit. The husband plays hockey and it is a late game tonight. Uggh. I will not get in bed 'til after 1 I fear. Which really stinks when one has to get up by 5:00am. ::groan:: Yeah.
My bag is packed for the rink. Shall I share my check list with you?
Hoodie v/
Socks & Sandals (yes, I'm one of *those* people!) v/
Hot chocolate with Amaretto flavor v/
The Hello Kitty bag I'm crocheting v/
Phone v/
Yes...think I have everything. Hope everyone has a great evening. If anyone is reading this. Which, at the moment in time I doubt, but one never knows. I have a great desire to become as exciting as Posie or Attic 24. They are truly my heroes in crochet.
Time to go!

Deb's Blog...Request for Patiotic Squares
A friend on a fellow webby is trying to make Granny Square blankets for the Vets in her area. She is an awesome person who is always contributing to things of this nature...even Project Linus!
If any of you have some yarn, time, and creation to contribute, she is looking for 6" Grannies (traditional kind) in flag colors (Red, White, Blue).
Here is a link to her blog for all the info.

I believe she is going to give away a Subway gift card to one lucky contributor too. Again, check out her blog for full details. Thanks for your time!!!

Sew I figured it was time to write out a blog
After being a member of myspace and facebook, ravalry & etsy....and not really doing anything with them, I decided to finally get my ends together and weave a nice little page about my art.
P'raps after I get this place set up, and my chest is still puffing out, I may attempt to successfully set up the other places. I just don't have enough things to officially sell on the latter two sites, and I'm hating all the crap that the former sites put on your sites. Okay, granted, I know they are free sites, but when (for example) I have in there that I've been TTC for years now...years...and all they run is baby ads or Invitro ads because at some point in time their little robot read the word pregnancy...ahhhhhhh! Or, the whole "get skinny now, you fat cow" ads....yeah. Irritating as all get out.
So, anywho. I'm going to try and set up this page how I want it to be and hopefully it with be aesthetically pleasing to your eyes.
Have a great day and wish me luck!
